This workshop introduces students to creating faux applique using Shiva Paintstiks, freezer paper stencils and pattern embellishments with permanent ink pens. Techniques include:
- cutting stencils from freezer paper
- correctly loading stencil brush with paint
- mixing paint colors on palette and fabric
- achieving depth with shading and color transition
- care of stencil brushes
- introduction to patterning
- choosing patterns to enhance your painting
- suggestions for quilting, binding and embellishing
