Occasionally, I will paint a piece of fabric that doesn’t quite meet my expectations and my original plan will go by the wayside. Enter plan B! I grabbed some fabric from my stash that could be potential friends with it, got out the rotary cutter and went to work!
Is this my typical way of working? Certainly not!! Because I have a history of being a “traditional” quilter, all seam allowances are 1/4 inch and a pattern must be followed. Or not.
I cut my fabric in half at an angle, placed a strip along the cut edge right sides together and sewed them together. I pressed… and kept on sewing, adding more strips and cutting wherever I felt it needed it. Prairie points and applique were added if I wanted and I let the little quilt tell me when it was done.
Fun and no pressure were just what I needed!!
